Children with autism can be very gifted. The can also have several problems. Many people who are autistic lead normal lives are college graduates or have children themselves. Getting help as soon as possible provides the best chance for a good future.

Autism affects the way a child communicates and relates to other people. Children with autism often behave in unusual ways or have extremely limited interests.

Older signs of Autism depend on a child's age.

May not be able to give big smiles by six months of age.

May not be able to make sounds or faces back and forth with other people by none months of age

May not be able to make back-and-forth gestures like pointing or waiving by 12 months of age.

Lose the ability to say words, even if they could talk before

May speak with an abnormal tone or rhythm

May make some movements or become upset
